Kathleen Thompson Davis,
Vice President of Trillium Diagnostics, is a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, who received her education at University of Maryland (B.S.), Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions (CT), Johns Hopkins University (MAS) and Memorial Blood Center of Minneapolis (SBB). She began her career at Johns Hopkins where she became interested in all aspects of human cells, the information they hold, and the tools to extract it. There she worked in Hematology, Cytopathology, and Blood Services. During 7 of those years she also served in the Army Reserves as the Chief Lab NCO of the 92nd Field Hospital, an experience that complemented her civilian clinical laboratory life quite well. While doing research for John K.Frost, MD, she worked on some of the very early studies toward automating cytopathology. After earning the Master’s in Administrative Science at JHU, she moved to Minneapolis, MN for a Blood Banking internship at the Memorial Blood Center of Minneapolis. She fell in love with the Twin Cities, their music and art scenes, the Boundry Waters and Nothwoods, the legendary Minnesota winters and warm Midwest culture, as well as the quality of life in general..and she didn’t leave. In the summer of 2001, she attended the Dartmouth Flow Cytometry Course, which turned out to be a life changing experience. She met Dr Bruce Davis and within a matter of weeks, she was off to live in Maine and help him build Trillium Diagnostics .
